The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian Internal Affairs Minister Ihor Klymenko on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Fifteen days into the Kakhovka HPP disaster mitigation efforts. A total of 595 houses are remaining flooded in the Kherson region. Due to enemy attacks, unfortunately, the number of those injured and killed is growing. Russians continue to open fire on civilians. Currently, 21 persons were killed, and five of them due to Russia’s aimed shelling. Twenty-eight more people were injured, including 16 first responders,” Klymenko told.
In his words, the epidemiological situation is stable and controlled. No outbreaks of infectious diseases were recorded. Relevant professionals are continuously taking water samples, both industrial and drinking.
Klymenko emphasized that fishing and fish consumption had been strictly forbidden within the affected areas. Special patrols are on duty to monitor violations.
A reminder that, on the night of June 6, 2023, Russian invaders blew up the Kakhovka Dam, having caused extensive flooding in the Kherson and Mykolaiv regions.
