The Russian forces have been deliberately targeting an ammonia pipeline in the Kupiansk district of Kharkiv region in the past two weeks.

Oleh Syniehubov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, said this during the nationwide United News telethon, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"The main ammonia pipeline is under shelling. This has been taking place for the past two weeks, attacks are deliberate. Currently, our experts do not detect a leak of technical ammonia that remains in the pipes. However, the danger exists," Syniehubov said.

Combat operations continue in the Kupiansk direction, the front line has not changed, the region’s governor said.

"There, the enemy has chosen such a position to demonstrate offensive actions, it receives a decent response from our Armed Forces, suffers losses and retreats. By doing so, they are trying to find a weak spot or peculiarities of the defense," Syniehubov said.

He noted that the enemy also constantly deploys subversive and intelligence groups - not only in the Kupiansk district, but also along the entire border line. The border area, as before, is subjected to enemy shelling every day.

As reported, on June 5, 134 tonnes of ammonia leaked from the Togliatti-Odesa pipeline as a result of shelling in Kupiansk district, Kharkiv region. Although the transit of the substance has been halted since February 24, 2022, technical ammonia remains in the ammonia pipeline.
