Ukraine’s Air Force strikes enemy positions 23 times in past day

The Ukrainian Air Force engaged enemy manpower clusters 23 times, also delivering four strikes targeting Russian air defense systems.

That’s according to an operational update posted by the General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces Thursday morning, Ukrinform reports.

"Over the past 24 hours, the enemy launched five missile and 48 air strikes, as well as 70 attacks involving multiple rocket launchers. Unfortunately, in addition to the destroyed infrastructure, civilians were also injured," the report reads.

The probability of missile and air strikes on the entire territory of Ukraine remains very high, warns the General Staff.

The enemy continues to focus their main efforts on attempts to completely occupy Ukraine’s Luhansk and Donetsk regions. Thirty combat clashes took place throughout the day.

On the Volyn and Polissia axes, the operational situation has not changed significantly.

In the Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna zones, the enemy maintains their military presence in the areas bordering Ukraine. An air strike targeted the area of Strelcha, Kharkiv region. Russian mortars and artillery shelled Halahanivka and Leonivka in Chernihiv region; Novovasylivka, Volfine, Rozhkovychi, Vovkivka, and Yablunivka in Sumy region, as well as Udy, Veterynarne, Hraniv, Morokhovets, Ternova, Starytsia, Vovchansk, Hatyshche, Pokaliane, Budarky, Zemlianka, Zarubinka, Chuhunivka, and Mylove in Kharkiv region.

In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy carried out airstrikes in the area of Kyslivka, Kharkiv region, and Stelmakhivka, Luhansk region. Kamianka, Topoli, Krasne Pershe, Petro-Ivanivka, Fiholivka, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Kindrashivka, Kyslivka, Tabaivka, and Berestove in Kharkiv region, and Novoselivske in Luhansk region came under artillery and mortar shelling.

In the Lyman direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the Vesele area of Donetsk region. Airstrikes were reported in the Zarichne, Yampolivka, Bilohorivka, Siversk, Zvanivka, Ivano-Daryivka, Spirne, Vesele, and Nikiforivka districts of Donetsk region. Makiivka, Nevske, Bilohorivka of Luhansk region and Verkhnokamianske, Torske, Spirne, Rozdolivka of Donetsk region were hit by artillery fire.

In the direction of Bakhmut, the enemy carried out offensive actions toward Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Ivanivske, and Severne, with no success. Airstrikes hit the districts of Diliivka and Bila Hora of Donetsk region. Vasyukivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Hryhorivka, Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Stupochky, Oleksandro-Shultyne, Bila Hora, Toretsk, and Severne of Donetsk region were affected by artillery shelling.

In the Avdiivka direction, the enemy made an unsuccessful assault attempt toward Avdiivka and Pervomaiske. Airstrikes were reported in the Avdiivka area. Artillery shelling affected the areas of Berdychi, Stepove, Avdiivka, Pervomaiske, and Karlivka in Donetsk region.

In the Marinka direction, Ukraine’s defenders repelled multiple enemy assaults in the area of Marinka, inflicting significant losses on the Russians. At the same time, the enemy carried out airstrikes on Krasnohorivka and artillery attacks on Ukrainske, Hostre, Maksymilianivka, Heorhiivka, Marinka, Pobieda, and Novomykhailivka in Donetsk region.

In the direction of Shakhtarske, the enemy carried out airstrikes in the areas of Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva, and Shakhtarske. They also shelled Vuhledar, Shakhtarske, Zolota Nyva, and Vremivka in Donetsk region.

The enemy remains on the defensive in the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions. Russian airstrikes targeted the districts of Novopil of Donetsk region, and Olhivske and Poltavka of Zaporizhzhia region. Russian artillery shelled Burlatske, Novosilka, Novopil, and Temyrivka in Donetsk region; Olhivske, Poltavka, Huliaipole, Charivne, Bilohirya, Novoandriivka, Shcherbaky, Stepove, and Kamianske in Zaporizhzhia region; Nikopol in Dnipropetrovsk region; Beryslav, Vesele, Tokarivka, Sadove, and Bilozerka in Kherson region, as well as the city of Kherson.

According to the General Staff, the occupiers were not prepared for the consequences of the Kakhovka HPP dam explosion, suffering losses in manpower, weapons, and military equipment. In particular, there are injured, dead, and missing reported in units of the 7th Airborne Assault Division and the 22nd Army Corps of the Russian Armed Forces. Also, several field ammunition and food depots, automobile and armored vehicles, and other military property were destroyed.

On June 6, a mass evacuation of the civilian population took place from the city of Kakhovka, where people drove their own vehicles to flee the area. Along with the civilian population, the Russian occupiers also used the evacuation routes. During the relocation, the invaders used local residents as human shields.

"Over the past day, the Air Force of the Defense Forces made 23 strikes on enemy manpower clusters and four – on their air defense systems. Last day, our defenders destroyed four reconnaissance UAVs. Rocket and artillery units struck four control points, nine clusters, five ammunition depots, two air defense systems, and a radar station," the General Staff of the Armed Forces concluded.
