About 15 international companies plan to locate production in future technology park in Irpin

About 15 companies from Poland, Austria and Germany have already agreed to open their production facilities in the future technology park in Irpin.

Oleksandr Markushyn, Mayor of Irpin, told Ukrinform in an interview.

"About 15 companies from Poland, Austria and Germany have already agreed to open their production facilities in our technology park. These will be only harmless industries," said Markushyn.

He noted that one of these companies is Ecosoft, a large company that wants to expand its production capacity. In addition, before the full-scale invasion of Russia, the city authorities were talking to Philips about building their production facility in the city. The Irpin authorities will also offer Ajax, a company specialising in the production of alarm systems, to open in the technology park.

The mayor said that there is already a project presentation of the technology park, which is planned to be agreed with the state leadership.

Markushyn emphasised that the new technology park will have many advantages. The first is convenient logistics. It will be located right next to three main roads - the Warsaw, Zhytomyr and Novoirpinsk highways. The second is the availability of all utilities near the technology park - sewage, water supply, and gasification. In addition, the facility will be located just one kilometer from the Irpin electricity substation. Third, it will be located on state property.

"There are not a thousand owners of shares. There is no need to negotiate with a thousand or two thousand people. This is state property, so the state has the right to dispose of it. It should be divided into large pieces - two, three, seven hectares each, where enterprises will be built," the mayor said.

According to him, this technology park will not only "feed" the whole of Irpin, but also the entire Kyiv region, as there are almost 300 hectares of land there.

"We will do our best for this. We will help companies and enterprises with communications and permits. While they are building, we will exempt them from paying for land. This is the only way we can attract business," said Markushyn.

He also explained that each company does this at its own expense, while the city authorities provide land for long-term lease.
