Six regions of Ukraine have problems with electricity due to shelling

As of May 8, the power grid operates with a power reserve, but due to shelling, there are power outages in six regions, primarily in the frontline.

That's according to the press service of the Ministry of Energy on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"The situation in the power system of Ukraine as of May 8: no damage was recorded due to massive nighttime shelling, there are blackouts in the frontline regions. Fortunately, the massive nighttime shelling of the capital, Kyiv and Odesa regions did not damage the energy infrastructure. At the same time, consumers in Kherson, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, Sumy, and Chernihiv regions remain without electricity due to the shelling," the statement said.

It is noted that power engineers are working to restore power supply where the security situation allows. In total, power supply was restored to more than 24.5 thousand consumers over the day.

"The power system operates without restrictions, there is a power reserve," the Ministry of Energy added.

As reported, Russia launched 16 missile strikes over the past day, in particular on the cities of Kharkiv, Kherson, Mykolaiv and Odesa regions. In addition, 61 air strikes and 52 enemy attacks from multiple launch rocket systems were recorded at the positions of our troops and populated areas.

At night, Russian aggressors attacked the territory of Ukraine with 35 kamikaze drones. The defenders of Ukrainian skies destroyed all Russian drones.
