Russian forces have shelled the Stepnohirsk community in the Zaporizhzhia region, killing two people and wounding three others.

The head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Starukh, said this at a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine - Ukrinform.

"Today, from 08:30, the Stepnohirsk community was shelled for quite a long time. Unfortunately, we have disappointing news: two people were killed, three were wounded," Starukh said.

He added that the casualties included employees of the village council who delivered firewood to people.

According to Starukh, the pace of shelling of the region has recently increased, with up to a hundred attacks per 24 hours. At the same time, strikes are launched either on critical infrastructure, or the enemy randomly fires at communities, terrorizing the civilian population.

Later, on Telegram, Starukh specified that the village of Prymorske in the Stepnohirsk territorial community was damaged due to the morning artillery shelling. One dead and one injured are employees of the village council, he added.
