Ukraine Air Force strikes enemy positions 25 times over past day

Ukrainian warplanes and helicopters on Wednesday carried out 25 sorties to engage Russian manpower and equipment clusters.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported the news in its morning update, seen by Ukrinform.

Over the past day, the Russian occupiers launched three missile strikes and 13 air strikes, as well as 68 times fired jet artillery volleys, in particular, on the civilian infrastructure of Bakhmut, Kostiantynivka, and Kurakhove of Donetsk region; Nikopol of Dnipropetrovsk region, and Kherson. There are casualties among the civilian population.

The threat of air and missile strikes remains in place across the entire territory of Ukraine.

The enemy continues to focus their efforts on conducting an offensive in the Bakhmut direction. They saw no success in the Avdiivka and Kupiansk areas. In the Novopavlivka, Zaporizhia, and Kherson directions, the Russians are in active defense, shelling the positions of Ukrainian troops and civilian objects along the contact line.

Over the past day, the Defense Forces repelled the attacks in the areas of Stelmakhivka and Ploschanka of Luhansk region and Belohorivka, Soledar, Krasna Hora, Viimka, Pidhorodne, Bakhmut, Kurdyumivka, Mayorsk, Severnye, Vodiane, Krasnohorivka, Vesele, Maryinka, and Pobyeda in Donetsk region.

No signs of offensive groups being formed were detected in the Volyn, Polissia, Sivershchyna, and Slobozhanshcyna directions.

In the Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshcyna directions, the districts of Kamianska Sloboda, Chernihiv region, were hit by tank, mortar, and artillery shelling, as well as Kustyne, Maiske and Pavlivka in Sumy region, and Krasne, Staritsa, Ohirtseve, Hatyshche, Vovchansk, Ustynivka, and Fiholivka in Kharkiv region.

Areas of 20 settlements came under fire in the Kupiansk and Lyman directions. Among them are Ivanivka, Kupiansk, Dvorichna, Vilshana, Kislivka, Kotlyarivka and Krokhmalne in Kharkiv region, and Makiivka, Ploshanka and Dibrova in Luhansk region.

Areas of more than 40 settlements were shelled in the Bakhmut and Avdiivka directions. In particular, these are Verkhnokamianske, Bilohorivka, Bakhmut, Bila Hora, Diliivka, Avdiivka, Nevelske, Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, and Novomykhailivka of Donetsk region.

In the Novopavlivka direction, enemy fire was recorded near the settlements of Zolota Nyva, Vuhledar, Mykilski Dachi, and Prechistivka in Donetsk region.

In the Zaporizhia and Kherson directions, the areas of more than 45 settlements were affected by enemy fire. The civilian infrastructure of Poltavka, Hulyaipilske, Mala Tokmachka, and Stepove settlements of Zaporizhia region, and Kherson, Novosilka, Tyahinka, and Sadove were damaged by tank, mortar, and artillery shelling.

Forcible integration of temporarily occupied territories into the legal field of the Russian Federation continues. Thus, in the city of Horlivka, Donetsk region, the deadline for issuing Russian passports has been shortened from 30 to 10 days. In addition, Russian license plates and driver's licenses are being issued in the region.

Over the past day, the Air Force carried out 20 strikes on enemy clusters, as well as five strikes on the positions of their anti-aircraft missile systems.

In the previous day, in the eastern direction, units of anti-aircraft missile troops destroyed a Russian Su-25 attack aircraft, a Ka-52 attack helicopter, and an Orlan-10 UAV.

Missile and artillery forces inflicted fire damage on three control points, four clusters, and two ammunition depots.
