Zelensky awards 276 Ukrainian defenders, including 51 posthumously

President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine honored with state awards 276 Ukrainian military servicemen, 51 of them posthumously.

The relevant decrees were published on the president’s website, Ukrinform reports.

For personal courage and self-sacrifice shown in defending the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, loyalty to the military oath, by Decree No. 885/2022, the President awarded 183 defenders.

By Decree No. 886/2022, the head of state honored 93 defenders, 51 of them posthumously.

They were awarded the orders of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi, Danylo Halytskyi, and of Courage, as well as medals of Military Service to Ukraine", Defender of Homeland, and Life Saved.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, on December 20, during a trip to Donetsk region, Zelensky met with the Ukrainian military defending the city of Bakhmut, the hottest spot on the frontline, where he brought defenders their state awards.
