Russians suffering massive losses in Bakhmut, Avdiivka directions - Ukraine Army spox

In the Bakhmut and Avdiivka directions, Russian troops suffered "serious losses", which affected their morale.

As reported by Ukrinform with reference to Radio Liberty, this was stated by the spokesman for Ukraine’s Eastern Grouping, Serhiy Cherevatyi.

"Donbas remains the main epicenter of our enemy's attack. The Bakhmut and Avdiivka directions are the most attacked ones. The enemy employs with all kinds of artillery systems, mortars and tanks, but they still suffer significant losses and, as a rule, we do not allow their advance," he said on the air of the national telethon.

According to the spokesman, Russia is losing about 100 soldiers per day in the Bakhmut and Avdiivka directions.

"These have serious losses there. And this affects their morale. According to our intercepts, we know that in the Avdiivka direction, they planned for the arrival of officers-trainers from the Pacific Fleet in order to calm soldiers down, (improve) their morale, and offer help," Cherevatyi added.

As reported, Donetsk region is under constant shelling by Russian troops. Problems with power, heating, and water supply are observed in the region.

More than 1.2 million people fled the area, in which 1,670,000 people lived at the time Russia invaded. By winter, no more than 235,000 people involved in the defense and maintenance of critical infrastructure are expected to remain in the region.
