The invaders deployed modernized anti-aircraft missile systems, electronic warfare stations, and other weapons on Zmiinyi Island that could provide cover for the possible landing of enemy subversion and reconnaissance groups or massive shelling of Odesa region.

"A ship group of enemy forces continues to block navigation, intensifies its actions around Zmiinyi Island, keeps two frigates, equipped with Kalibr cruise missiles, ready for a missile strike," Vladyslav Nazarov, spokesman for the Operational Command “South”, posted on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

The deployment of anti-aircraft missile systems, multiple rocket launchers, including modernized ones, and electronic warfare stations on Zmiinyi Island indicates the intention of the enemy to protect its ships from Ukraine’s strikes and the threat of attacks on Odesa coast," Nazarov added.

According to him, there are no signs of preparation for the landing operation at the moment, but there may be "attempts to approach and land subversion and reconnaissance groups on the shore or at the mouth of the Danube, or to strike coastal areas demonstratively."
