Russian invaders kill 223 children in Ukraine

A total of 223 children have been killed in Ukraine since the Russian invasion started.

The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“As of May 5, 2022, over 631 children in Ukraine were affected by the Russian armed aggression. According to the official data, 223 children were killed and over 408 injured,” the report states.

These data are not final, as they are being investigated within the areas of hostilities, temporarily occupied and liberated areas.

Currently, most casualties were recorded in Donetsk Region (139), Kyiv Region (116), Kharkiv Region (95), Chernihiv Region (68), Kherson Region (46), Mykolaiv Region (44), Luhansk Region (37), Zaporizhzhia Region (27), Sumy Region (17), Zhytomyr Region (15) and the city of Kyiv (16).

On May 5, 2022, a 15-year-old volunteer boy was killed in Russia’s shelling of Feldman Ecopark in Lisne, Kharkiv Region. He was helping to feed and evacuate animals.

In addition, a total of 1,607 educational institutions were damaged across Ukraine as a result of Russia’s daily air and artillery strikes, and 121 of them were destroyed completely.
