Satellite images collected and analyzed by private U.S. company Maxar Technologies show Russia massing troops in the Belgorod region for a major offensive in eastern Ukraine.

The company announced this on Twitter, Ukrinform reports.

"Satellite imagery reveals Russian forces continue moving into eastern Ukraine. Military deployments were observed along the 14k-34 highway and the corridor that leads from Soloti and Valuyki in western Russia towards the border with Ukraine," the tweet reads.

The images were taken on April 11.

Earlier, satellite images taken by Maxar Technologies showed a 13-kilometer-long column of Russian military vehicles moving through the Ukrainian city of Velykyi Burluk towards Kharkiv on April 8.
