Sloviansk community has more than 200 water intake wells
Vadym Liakh, head of the Sloviansk City Military Administration, reported this in an interview with Ukrinform.
“We are drilling wells and updating the count every week; the number is increasing… We already have up to 200 wells, and those are just the ones we’ve drilled, but people also have their own,” Liakh said.
According to him, the community is preparing for the possibility that water supply may be interrupted due to shelling of water infrastructure facilities on the Siverskyi Donets River.
“And then we’ll have to switch to wells, just as we did in 2022, when we were without water for three months, but we managed,” noted the head of the CMA.
As reported by Ukrinform, there are currently about 47,000 civilians remaining in the Sloviansk community, with up to a thousand people leaving for safer regions every week.
