The Community Rescue Officer training project now covers 100% of Ukraine's territorial communities (excluding temporarily occupied territories), with more than 2,300 law enforcement officers having completed the training.

Ukrainian Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko announced this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

"One of the key achievements in the field of security and civil protection this year has been the launch of the Community Rescue Officer project. To date, more than 2,300 officers have already completed training and received certificates," the post read.

The project, which has been operating for six months, covered 100% of Ukraine's territorial communities (except temporarily occupied territories) within its first four months.

"Over six months, rescue officers have responded to emergencies more than 970 times, most of them related to hostilities; taken part in extinguishing more than 33,500 fires; and identified more than 4,300 explosive devices. A separate area of their work is cooperation with local self-government bodies," the interior minister said.

Klymenko added that community rescue officers assist with civil protection planning, population sheltering, and the formation of volunteer fire brigades.

"Security is not only about response, but also about prevention. That is why rescue officers train people in action algorithms during emergencies. We continue to strengthen the local security system, because a strong state begins with a safe community," he said.

As of the end of October, more than 1,900 community rescue officers were operating in Ukraine.
