Medics from the National Police's Joint Assault Brigade “Liut” carried out Ukraine's first evacuation of a seriously wounded soldier from Donetsk Oblast to Lviv in just 20 hours.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported on Facebook by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The ministry noted that such a trip usually takes 72 hours, adding: “This is not just an evacuation, but an example of new approaches, courage, and self-sacrifice. The life and health of every soldier is priceless.”

For its part, the Liut Special Operations Brigade emphasized that the Shield of Life medical service, which operates as part of the brigade, had accomplished something that had already gone down in the unit's history, namely the targeted and full-scale evacuation of a wounded soldier over a distance of almost 1,500 kilometers.

“A fighter from the ‘Predator’ brigade of the Patrol Police Department was seriously wounded by an enemy FPV drone strike: instant amputation, massive bleeding. It was a moment when seconds equaled life,” the statement said.

Under fire, Predator's combat medics provided tactical assistance and evacuated the soldier to the frontline surgical unit, where medics from the Shield of Life medical service stabilized his condition.

“Then a unique operation began: the wounded soldier was transported across the country — from Donetsk to Lviv — straight to the Superhumans Center, where he will receive highly specialized care and modern prosthetics,” said the soldier's comrades.

Thus, only 20 hours passed from the moment of injury to the safe operating room. “This is a real record that breaks old standards: previously, such a journey took up to 72 hours,” added the Lyut brigade.

As reported by Ukrinform, in August, Oleksandr Rashevsky took command of the National Guard's Liut combat brigade. The previous commander of this brigade, Maksym Kazban, died in a car accident in Donetsk region.
