The Verkhovna Rada registered on June 2 a bill on amendments to the legislation on national resistance.

Deputy Head of the President's Office Iryna Vereshchuk reported this on Telegram, Ukrinform saw.

"Today, the Verkhovna Rada is tabling a bill on amendments to the legislation on national resistance. This is an important step toward achieving the systemic readiness of the entire society to defend our state," Vereshchuk said.

According to the official, the bill envisages training to be provided to different categories of citizens, both men and women. It also stipulates that training shall take place both voluntarily and within educational curricula; that training shall be conducted at Training Centers to be deployed throughout the country; that heads and instructors in the Centers are veterans with combat experience.

The centers will have the right to use the property of national and local authorities, military units, public organizations, and create shooting ranges and use firearms for educational purposes.

“The system of training for national resistance is not about war, it is about readiness,” Vereshchuk emphasized.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, on April 18, the Cabinet of Ministers passed a resolution approving the procedure for the creation and functioning of centers for training citizens for national resistance, as well as requirements for their activities.
