About 2,500 out of 13,000 schools in Ukraine will work online - Education Ministry

In a new school year in Ukraine, half of 13,000 schools will work in online or mixed formats.

Deputy Minister of Education and Science Andriy Stashkiv announced this on the air of the United News telethon, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Out of 13,000 schools operating in Ukraine, 6,500 will work as usual, 3,800 schools will work in a mixed format from September 1," Stashkiv said.

According to him, given the security conditions, 2,500 secondary education institutions will work online. Among them are schools relocated from the temporarily occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions.

The deputy minister added that there are currently 70,000 pupils from the temporarily occupied territories in Ukraine.
