Newly appointed German ambassador meets with Metropolitan Epiphanius

The newly appointed Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Ukraine, Martin Jaeger, at a meeting with the head of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Metropolitan Epiphanius, noted the importance of the OCU in strengthening the Ukrainian identity.

The diplomat wrote this on the social platform X (formerly known as Twitter), Ukrinform reports.

"In addition to the education of the individual and the formation of spirituality, the Orthodox Church of Ukraine plays a significant role in strengthening the Ukrainian identity. We continue cooperation in charitable and humanitarian projects. Germany will continue to help Ukraine in the fight for freedom," Jaeger wrote.

 As reported, Germany’s newly appointed Ambassador to Ukraine Martin Jaeger visited Chernihiv region last week, where he honored the memory of the victims of the Koriukivka tragedy in 1943.
