Rescuers hand over Sakharov Prize reward to United24

Employees of the State Emergency Service decided to transfer 8 thousand euros of the Sakharov Prize from the European Union to United24.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported this, according to Ukrinform.

"In December last year, the brave and courageous people of Ukraine, represented by President Volodymyr Zelensky, elected leaders and civil society, including the SES employees, received the Sakharov European Parliamentary Prize. It also includes a cash prize. The rescuers received 8 thousand euros, which they decided to donate to United24," the statement said.

The Sakharov Prize is the European Union's highest human rights award. It is awarded to those who have made an exceptional contribution to the struggle for human rights around the world.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, the United24 platform raised $325 million to support Ukraine over the year.
