Military shows how it carries out operation to liberate Stepnohirsk in Zaporizhzhia
Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine's Ministry of Defense (HUR) stated this on its website, according to Ukrinform.
Among those taking part in the operation is the HUR special unit "Artan."
So far, several hundred Russian troops have been eliminated as part of the operation, and more than 20 pieces of enemy armored equipment have been destroyed, including tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, and scarce electronic warfare systems. Prisoners have also been taken, captured directly from urban areas.
The Russian army is using its typical "meat infiltration" tactic, sending small groups of 1 to 10 soldiers in counterattacks under the cover of fog. Most of these groups are eliminated by Ukrainian intelligence in the gray zone, while the rest are destroyed in close combat.
In this section of the front, the enemy is trying to establish air superiority by deploying elite FPV drone units. Thanks to an integrated short-range air defense system and the skill of Ukrainian pilots, the skies remain under the control of Ukraine's Defense Forces. As noted by Artan commander Viktor "Titan" Torkotyuk, this task is unusual for special forces.
"Fighters have to stay on the 'zero line' for several months. However, their level of training has allowed them to convert endurance into an effective offensive," the commander said.
The liberation of Stepnohirsk, HUR emphasized, helps straighten the front line, deprives Russian forces of a foothold that could have been used for an advance on Zaporizhzhia, expands fire control over enemy logistics, and, importantly, undermines the morale of the aggressor's "elite" units.
As reported, in Russia's Rostov region, partisans recently carried out sabotage at a key transit hub for military cargo heading toward the Zaporizhzhia direction.
