The Ministry of Foreign Affairs decries as untrue the reports of the suspension of printing of travel passports due to the alleged failure to sign a contract with the Ukraina printing house.

That’s according to MFA’s spokesperson Oleg Nikolenko, who took to Facebook to comment on the issue, Ukrinform reports.

Nikolenko wrote that on June 8, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ukraina company concluded a new contract for the production of 115,000 travel passports.

"Already on June 9, the first batch of 41,000 passports was printed and shipped by order of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. These passports are now being sent abroad to be issued to our citizens at Ukrainian diplomatic institutions," said the spokesman.

He added that Ukrainians who are staying abroad can check the status of their passport issue at https://passport.mfa.gov.ua.

The spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs assured citizens that Ukrainian embassies and consulates continue to process and issue passports “as usual.”

Earlier, a number of media reports claimed with reference to the comment of the Ukraina company CEO Tetiana Bondarenko that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs experienced delays in issuing Ukrainian passports abroad after their contract  with the company expired.
