Canada sanctions those involved in destruction of Ukrainian cultural heritage

Canada is imposing sanctions against a number of individuals and entities involved in the destruction of Ukrainian cultural monuments, institutions, and identity in the context of Russian aggression.

This was reported by the Office of Canada’s Prime Minister, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

The move comes in response to Russia's efforts to destroy Ukrainian cultural monuments, institutions and identity, and targets 24 individuals and 17 legal entities.

In total, since Russia's occupation of Crimea, Canada has designated more than 2,400 individuals and legal entities from Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland arrived in Ukraine on an unannounced visit, the second since the outset of the full-scale invasion.
