In Ukraine, 989 children wounded amid Russia’s ongoing war

The Russian forces have injured 989 children across Ukraine.

That’s according to the Prosecutor General's Office, Ukrinform reports.

"As of the morning of May 30, 2023, a total of 1,472 children have been injured in Ukraine as a result of Russia’s full-scale armed. According to the official report by our juvenile prosecutors, 483 children died and 989 sustained injuries of various severity," reads the report posted on Telegram.

These data are not final as work is underway to verify the reports incoming from the zones of hostilities, temporarily captured and liberated territories.

The largest number of affected children was reported in Donetsk region (462), as well as in Kharkiv region (279), Kyiv region (128), Kherson region (102), Zaporizhzhia region (91), Mykolaiv region (89), Dnipropetrovsk region (73), Chernihiv region (71), and Luhansk region (67).

On May 29, an 11-year-old boy was injured by to shelling in Pokrovske, Dnipropetrovsk region.

On the same day, a 15-year-old teenager was injured as a result of Russian rocket hitting the village of Kivsharivka, Kharkiv region.

On May 27, a 14-year-old girl was injured as a result of Russian shelling of the village of Chaikino, Chernihiv region.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, on May 29 in Kharkiv region, as a result of a missile attack on Kivsharivka in the Kupiansk district, three elderly women, a pregnant woman, and a number of  children were injured. Multiple houses sustained damage.
