Since Russian invasion, 220,000 Ukrainian women find work in Poland

Since February 24, since a full-scale Russian invasion, more than 220,000 Ukrainian women have been employed in Poland.

This was announced by Minister of Family and Social Policy of Poland Marlena Maląg, Ukrinform reports with reference to Bankier.pl.

“More than 220,000 women from Ukraine have already been employed in Poland. We are satisfied with this, it is a good result," said Maląg.

According to the official, about 1.2 million Ukrainians obtained the Polish identification code (PESEL), including 500,000 working age women.

"This is good news for our labor market. All the meetings we have with employers clearly show that we need labor force,” Maląg said.

Earlier, the governor of the National Bank of Poland, Adam Glapinski, said that 1.5 million Ukrainian citizens remained in the country, where they found shelter from Russian aggression.

According to other estimates, a total of 3-3.5 million Ukrainians may be staying in Poland.

Russia has been waging a full-scale war against Ukraine since February 24. Millions of Ukrainians have been forced to flee country.
