Citizens of Belarus who are under pressure or persecution and need additional protection can report this to Ukrainian border guards and enter the territory of Ukraine despite the introduction of temporary restrictions on the entry of certain categories of foreigners into the country.

“Citizens of Belarus who want to receive protection in Ukraine can arrive at border checkpoints and inform our border guards about this. In addition to persons in need of protection, foreigners who study in Ukraine or do military service, who have a permanent or temporary residence permit in Ukraine, are in transit, diplomats and consuls will also be able to enter the territory of Ukraine,” Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal wrote on Telegram.

He recalled that on Wednesday, August 26, the Cabinet of Ministers decided to temporarily restrict the entry of certain categories of foreigners into Ukraine until the end of September in order to prevent a second wave of COVID-19 in the country.
