Zelensky would again win Ukraine's presidential election with 38.4% of vote - Socis

If the presidential election in Ukraine were held this Sunday, incumbent President Volodymyr Zelensky would win the most vote (38.4%), whereas former President Petro Poroshenko would come in second place (9.6%), according to a survey "Socio-Political Situation in Ukraine - February 2020" conducted by the Socis Center.

The study shows that 38.4% of those polled would vote for Zelensky, 9.6% for Poroshenko, 9.3% for co-chairman of the Opposition Platform - For Life faction Yuriy Boiko, 7.5% for Batkivshchyna party leader Yulia Tymoshenko, 3.9% for chairman of the Strength and Honor party Ihor Smeshko, 2.4% for Radical Party leader Oleh Liashko, 1.9% for Holos party leader Svyatoslav Vakarchuk, 1.6% for former Deputy Foreign Minister Olena Zerkal, and 1.1% for film director, former political prisoner Oleg Sentsov.

At the same time, answering the question: "Who did you vote for in the second round of the presidential election on April 21, 2019?", 61.1% said they supported Zelensky, 15.8% said they voted for Poroshenko, and other respondents said they did not vote or declined to answer.

At the same time, answering the question: "Who would you vote for if the second round of the presidential election were held now?", 47.9% of respondents said they would support Zelensky, 15.8% - Poroshenko, 10.2% - another candidate, and other respondents would not vote or failed to answer.

The study was conducted on February 1-10, 2020 using a standard face-to-face interview at the place of residence of respondents. A total of 2,000 respondents were interviewed. The poll's margin of error is +/–2.1% (with a probability of 0.95).
