Ukrinform
The first Ukrainian telecommunications satellite "Lybid" is to be launched next year.

"Ukrainian satellite will be launched from the Baikonur site with the help of Zenit-2SB carrier rocket and Fregat-SB upper stage," AIN.UA portal reports.

The contractor of the project is the MDA Canadian company, the subcontractor is the Information Satellite Systems company. The agreement on the launch of the satellite was signed with the Canadians back in 2009. However, the launch has been repeatedly delayed for various reasons, in particular, because of the Russian occupation of Crimea.
