US accuses several countries at UN Security Council of supporting Russia in its war against Ukraine
According to Ukrinform's correspondent in New York, speaking at a United Nations Security Council meeting on Tuesday, she accused China, North Korea, Iran, and Cuba of providing assistance to Russia in its war against Ukraine.
"But make no mistake. President Trump is committed to peace prevailing. His actions, public statements, and global leadership mission, makes clear his determination to put an end to the carnage," Bruce said, adding that "one reason why the conflict continues to grind on, in spite of the staggering costs it has already meant for Russia, is the support that Russia continues to receive from third countries."
"China remains the decisive enabler of Russia's war industrial machine. […] If China truly wants peace, it should immediately end exports of dual-use goods and stop purchasing Russian oil," Bruce said.
She also accused North Korea of supplying Russia with ammunition and ballistic missiles and deploying thousands of its troops to the front, while Iran has provided drones and technologies for their production.
Bruce noted that Cuba also joined the supply of military personnel to Russia in 2025 and signed new defense agreements with Russia and Belarus.
"The United States calls on all UN Member States to end any and all support that enables the continuation of this deplorable war, which exacts a devastating human toll and threatens peace and security around the world," she said.
Bruce stressed that a diplomatic resolution to the conflict is possible only with the consent of both sides. "Military force will never resolve this conflict – only a diplomatic solution, agreed to by both sides, can do so," she said.
Bruce urged "both parties" to continue negotiations and seek compromises in order to save lives.
"We once again call on both parties to stay at the negotiating table and, in a spirit of flexibility, compromise, and a duty to protect and preserve the lives of their own citizens, to end this barbaric war once and for all," she said.
