Zelensky: U.S. to lead monitoring of future ceasefire

Ukrinform
President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that progress has been achieved during talks in Geneva on the future monitoring of a ceasefire, with the United States set to take primary responsibility.

The Ukrainian President said this while speaking to journalists, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

“On the military track, specifically within the military subgroup, I believe there is constructive progress. All three sides have acknowledged that if the war ends and a ceasefire is established, monitoring of the ceasefire will be carried out primarily by the Americans. They will take the lead in this area,” Zelensky said.

According to him, this is a very important outcome brought back by the Ukrainian delegation from Geneva talks.
