Presidents of Ukraine, Switzerland discuss support for Ukraine’s energy sector in Davos
That is according to the Office of the President, as reported by Ukrinform.
Zelenskyy briefed his counterpart on the situation in Ukraine amid Russia’s ongoing attacks on energy facilities during the cold winter, as well as on the around-the-clock work of repair crews and energy specialists to restore electricity, heating, and water supply in Ukrainian cities and communities.
The President outlined Ukraine’s needs to support the energy sector and strengthen air defense. The leaders discussed the possibility of Switzerland making an additional contribution to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund.
The Presidents also discussed diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving a just peace and the importance of strengthening sanctions against Russia. Ukraine values Switzerland’s sanctions policy and expects further important decisions in the future.
The Ukrainian President congratulated Parmelin on his election and thanked Switzerland for its unwavering support for Ukraine since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion.
As previously reported by Ukrinform, Ukraine and Switzerland signed a Memorandum of Understanding launching a new large-scale economic resilience program, “Competitiveness for the Recovery of Ukraine 2026–2030.”
