Source: Zelensky instructs preparation of list of candidates for head of FISU
This was reported to Ukrinform by a source in the Office of the President.
“The president has instructed that a list of candidates [for the post of head of the Foreign Intelligence Service] be prepared for him,” the source said.
According to the source, the candidates include former SSU head Vasyl Maliuk, former Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, and commander of the Third Army Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andriy Biletsky.
The President is expected to review the entire list of candidates after completing his foreign visits. Volodymyr Zelensky is currently on a visit to Cyprus.
As reported, on January 2, the President made a number of personnel changes. SSU Chairman Oleh Ivashchenko became head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, and Kyrylo Budanov, who previously headed the Main Intelligence Directorate, became head of the Office of the President. The position of SSU chairman remains vacant.
