Erdogan discusses end of Russia's war against Ukraine with Putin
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated this during a phone conversation with the Russian leader Vladimir Putin, Ukrinform reports, citing a post by the Directorate of Communications of the Turkish Presidential Administration on X.
"Turkiye will continue its efforts for the termination of Russia-Ukraine war with a fair and lasting peace," the statement said.
It is emphasized that Erdogan expressed Turkey's readiness to support all diplomatic initiatives and plans that would facilitate direct contacts between the parties and pave the way for lasting peace.
The conversation also touched on bilateral relations between Turkey and Russia, as well as regional and global issues.
As Ukrinform previously reported, Turkey stresses its unwavering support for the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and its readiness to provide a platform and facilitate negotiations for a ceasefire and the achievement of a just and sustainable peace.
