Zelensky approves ratification of One Hundred Year Partnership Agreement with Britain
The President announced this on social media X, according to Ukrinform.
"Our alliance doubles down our strength. It is, therefore, an honour and privilege to sign the law ratifying the 100-Year Partnership Agreement between the United Kingdom and Ukraine. Yesterday, the Verkhovna Rada overwhelmingly supported this landmark treaty, and today, I return it to parliament bearing my signature," Zelensky stated.
He also extended his deepest thanks to His Majesty King Charles III for his unwavering support.
"When tyranny threatens Europe once again, we must all hold firm, and Britain continues to lead in defending freedom on many fronts. Together, we have achieved a lot, and with the support of freedom-loving nations—the UK, our European partners, and the US—we continue to defend values and protect lives. We are united in our efforts to make diplomacy work and secure lasting peace for the European continent," the President emphasized.
As reported by Ukrinform, yesterday, September 17, the Verkhovna Rada ratified the One Hundred Year Partnership Agreement between Ukraine and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Legislative initiative No. 0332 was adopted by 295 votes of MPs.
The document, in particular, provides for the strengthening of military cooperation in the field of maritime security through the creation of a new structure to strengthen the security of the Baltic, Black, and Azov Seas and to deter Russian aggression. It will also bring together experts to develop partnerships in the fields of healthcare, agricultural technology, space, and unmanned technology, as well as promote educational projects.
