Turkey not ruling out participation in peacekeeping mission in Ukraine
This was stated at a briefing at the Turkish Ministry of National Defense, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
The ministry said that Turkey seeks to promote peace and stability in its region and supports all initiatives aimed at achieving these goals. However, officials emphasized that before any involvement could be considered, a ceasefire would have to be established, the mission's scope and mandate defined, and the contributions of each country determined.
It was also noted that assessments regarding the possible deployment of an international peacekeeping contingent in Ukraine are, at this stage, considered premature and unfounded.
In March this year, Turkey's Ministry of National Defense said the country was ready to send peacekeepers to Ukraine if needed, emphasizing that European security cannot be resolved without Turkey's involvement.
