Zelensky, Stoere discuss strengthening Ukraine's air defense

The head of state announced this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

"I spoke with Prime Minister of Norway Jonas Gahr Stoere. We are coordinating our steps with Norway — both bilateral and within broader formats, in Europe and with the United States. There is a good pace now in preparing the decision to strengthen our air defense. I am grateful for this support and readiness to work together for protection against Russian terror," Zelensky wrote.

Sanctions were another key topic of discussion.

"We must also become more responsive in joint sanctions pressure on Russia alongside our partners. This concerns the relevant EU sanctions packages and the decisions of other G7 members. Norway holds a very principled stance, which is important for all of us in Europe," he said.

According to Zelensky, both parties also discussed energy resilience.

"We already have concrete agreements on preparations for the coming winter, and Norway is ready to continue its support," he said.

U.S. President Donald Trump announced earlier that the United States would provide Patriot air defense systems to help protect Ukraine from Russian attacks. It was also reported that Norway might finance one of these systems.
