Trump sees Russian attacks on civilians during talks as 'extremely frustrating' – State Department
State Department Spokesperson Tammy Bruce said this at a press briefing on May 29, according to Ukrinform.
"I think the President [Trump] has judged Putin, based on the nature of what was clearly extremely frustrating to him regarding the killing of civilians while talks are going on for a ceasefire," Bruce said.
According to her, during a recent conversation with his Russian counterpart, Secretary of State Marco Rubio reiterated President Trump's calls for constructive, good-faith dialogue with Ukraine as the only path forward to ending the war.
Responding to recent Russian attacks, Trump said on Sunday that he was unhappy that Putin was "killing a lot of people," adding: "I don't know what the hell happened to Putin."
Later, Trump said Putin had "gone absolutely crazy" for killing people for no reason.
Media outlets now report that Trump is considering imposing sanctions on Russia this week due to his frustration with Putin's continued aggression and the slow pace of peace talks.
