Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andrii Yermak, held talks with representatives of European Union institutions, Nordic and Baltic states, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany regarding the ceasefire process.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the Office of the President.

The Ukrainian side informed its partners about President Volodymyr Zelensky’s readiness to meet with Vladimir Putin in Türkiye.

“Ukraine will do everything possible to achieve a ceasefire and begin negotiations on establishing a just and enduring peace. Our position is constructive,” Yermak emphasized.

He briefed EU institutions, Nordic and Baltic states on the recent summit in Kyiv involving the leaders of Ukraine, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Poland, as well as on the details of the Joint Statement on the ceasefire, which is to begin on May 12.

Yermak expressed special thanks to the diplomatic advisor to the President of France, the advisor to the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, and the representative of the German Federal Chancellor’s Office for the productive visits of their leaders to Ukraine and for the successful meeting of the Coalition of the Willing.

Ukraine coordinated further steps with its European partners.

As reported by Ukrinform, on May 10, Ukraine, together with its allies – France, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Poland – proposed a 30-day unconditional ceasefire. If Russia refuses, Ukraine’s allies intend to impose additional sanctions.

On May 12, Donald Trump announced that he is considering visiting Istanbul, where a personal meeting between Zelensky and Putin may take place.
