PM Shmyhal discusses military support for Ukraine with Kaja Kallas
Shmyhal shared details of the conversation via Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
"We coordinated our actions ahead of the meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels. We expect strong decisions," Shmyhal wrote.
The Prime Minister also expressed gratitude to Kallas for her recent firm statements supporting Ukraine, emphasizing that effective security guarantees for Ukraine, coupled with maximum pressure on Russia, are essential for achieving a just peace.
He further thanked Kallas for the approval of the 16th sanctions package by EU ambassadors, adding that Ukraine expects these sanctions to continue to tighten.
"It is important to continue military support for Ukraine and ensure the uninterrupted delivery of equipment and weapons," Shmyhal stressed. He also reiterated Ukraine's needs, which include more air defense systems, artillery, and armored vehicles.
The Prime Minister concluded by stating that Ukraine and Europe must act together, united, to ensure long-lasting peace on the European continent.
As previously reported, Kaja Kallas has stated that the Russian economy is in very poor condition and that the sanctions imposed by the West on Russia are a key advantage that should not be abandoned.
