Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that his meeting with the U.S. delegation, led by Vice President J.D. Vance, in Munich primarily focused on the economic component of security.

He stated this in an interview with NBC News, which aired on Sunday, according to Ukrinform.

"I heard some ideas about the economy -- how to secure the economy, how to invest. We spoke mainly about it with the vice president," Zelensky said.

He explained that he considers security guarantees to be the exclusive responsibility of the U.S. president, who is both the head of state and the leader of NATO.

In this context, Zelensky described the economy as a "big part" of security, which is both crucial and highly needed for Ukraine. He expressed hope that Ukraine and the U.S. would prepare a joint agreement -- a document outlining areas of U.S. investment, sectors for partnership development, and next steps.

When asked whether the new U.S. administration has a concrete plan for peace in Ukraine, Zelensky said: "I don't think so. They don't have a real plan because they cannot have it without us."

Commenting on the Munich meeting with the U.S. delegation led by Vice President Vance, Zelensky called it both "constructive and decisive."

"I believe it was a good meeting. We need to understand each other," Zelensky said.

He also confirmed an agreement for U.S. special envoy Keith Kellogg to visit Ukraine on February 20, adding that he invited him to visit the front lines. Zelensky explained that for the new U.S. administration to fully grasp the situation, it is important to witness the battlefield firsthand rather than rely solely on media reports.
