Sybiha to visit Paris on Feb 12 to discuss sanctions against Russia, European security

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha will embark on a two-day visit to Paris, where he will participate in a meeting of foreign ministers from six European countries, along with senior representatives of the European Commission.

That's according to the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry's press service, Ukrinform reports.

"On February 12-13, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha will visit Paris to take part in a meeting with the foreign ministers of France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Poland, and the United Kingdom, as well as key representatives of the European Commission," the statement reads.

The key topics of the talks will include strengthening international support for Ukraine in 2025, expanding sanctions pressure on Russia, developing strategic mechanisms to prevent further Russian aggression, and ensuring long-term security in Europe.

During his visit, Sybiha will also hold bilateral talks with Jean-Noel Barrot, France's Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs. Their discussions will focus on political and security cooperation, strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities, and advancing the country's integration into the EU and NATO.

"The diplomats will emphasize France's key role in shaping a unified position among international partners on long-term support for Ukraine and achieving a just and lasting peace," the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said.

Previous meetings in this format took place in Warsaw and Berlin in November and December 2024.
