Achieving a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace in Ukraine aligns with the national interests of the United States.

Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said this at a joint press conference with UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy in Kyiv on Wednesday, according to Ukrinform.

"I am convinced that achieving a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace in Ukraine is also in the national interest of the United States," Sybiha said.

He added that the implementation of the concept of "peace through strength" is not an abstract idea. Its practical realization involves concrete steps to strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities and specific decisions to accelerate the supply of necessary defense equipment.

"Without delay. Right now. To stabilize the situation on the front line," Sybiha said.

U.S. President Donald Trump stated earlier that "a lot of progress" had been made regarding Ukraine and Russia. He also expressed his desire to reach an agreement with Kyiv on securing access to Ukraine's rare earth minerals.
