Ukraine, Albania coordinate efforts to counter Russian shadow fleet - PM

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and his Albanian counterpart Edi Rama discussed defense cooperation and strengthening sanctions pressure on Russia, including efforts to counter the Russian shadow fleet.

According to Ukrinform, Shmyhal reported this in Telegram.

He expressed gratitude to Albania for training the Ukrainian military. He noted, in particular, that Ukraine expects to continue and expand this program in accordance with the agreement on long-term cooperation and support signed in January.

The parties also touched upon the issue of bringing Russia to justice.

Shmyhal welcomed the opening of the Albanian Embassy in Kyiv. According to him, this event will help strengthen cooperation between Ukraine and Albania at all levels.

“We appreciate Albania's support of initiatives in favor of Ukraine, as well as our country's future membership in the EU and NATO. Thank you for all the help provided after Russia's full-scale invasion,” he added.

As Ukrinform reported, on January 21, Ukraine and Albania signed an agreement on long-term cooperation and support.
