European integration, restoration of Ukraine: PM Shmyhal meets with FM of Spain

"I discussed the deepening of European integration and the restoration of Ukraine with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Spain José Manuel Albares Bueno. I thanked him for a symbolic visit of support to Ukraine and the donation of 30 ambulances. Soon these vehicles will be handed over to doctors and will help save lives," Shmyhal posted on Telegram.

The officials also outlined further steps for Ukraine's accession to the EU.

"We plan to implement all the recommendations of the European Commission and start the negotiation process. We expect Spain, which will assume Presidency of the Council of the European Union from July 2023, to contribute to this issue," the Prime Minister noted.

Moreover, the issue of immediate restoration of the Ukrainian energy infrastructure was raised during the meeting. The parties also discussed post-war reconstruction with the involvement of UNESCO to restore and preserve the cultural heritage of Ukraine.

Shmyhal thanked Spain for its comprehensive support in approaching Ukraine's victory.

As reported, Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares Bueno arrived on a visit to Kyiv on November 2.
