President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine keeps under personal control the issue of preventing Iran from further supplying weapons to the Russian Federation.

Oleksiy Danilov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, spoke of this on the air of the national telethon, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Today, we put the Iran issue on the agenda. Today, certain processes, certain negotiations are underway. I would not like to announce them now," said the NSDC secretary.

At the same time, he noted that the task of the Ukrainian authorities is to prevent attacks on Ukrainian cities and military positions by Iranian munitions or weapons.

"Everyone who’s supposed to deal with this issue is working on it. This issue is under the President’s control," Danilov added, noting that it is necessary to hear Iran's position.

At the same time, he emphasized that if the supply of Iranian weapons to Russia continues, Iran’s situation in the international arena will become more difficult.

As reported, U.S. officials said in August that Iran had provided Russia with a batch of one-way attack drones. Russia recently employed these drones en masse, regularly terrorizing Ukrainian cities.

Kyiv authorities are calling on the international community to provide more air defense systems to Ukraine to protect its infrastructure against Iranian-made drones.

The Verkhovna Rada condemned the Islamic Republic of Iran's support for the armed aggression pursued by the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
