“The whole world must unite now to prevent a catastrophe. We count on the support of partners to stop the aggressor as soon as possible,” Shmyhal stressed.
He added that Ukraine receives constant and powerful support from the United States. According to Shmyhal, further steps to strengthen the economic and military stability of the Ukrainian state were discussed at the meeting.
The Ukrainian prime minister also told Brink about the preparations for the most difficult heating season in the history of Europe. "We count on the comprehensive assistance of partners in Ukraine's purchase of additional volumes of gas," the head of government added.
Shmyhal also informed American partners about Ukraine’s efforts to launch a new program with the International Monetary Fund. He emphasized the need to increase sanctions pressure on the aggressor, designate Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism as soon as possible, and adopt appropriate legislation to seize the frozen assets of the Russian Federation and transfer them for the restoration of Ukraine.
