PM Shmyhal discusses energy cooperation, sanctions against Russia with Schallenberg, Lipavský

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal held a meeting with the foreign ministers of Austria and the Czech Republic, during which the issues of sanctions against Russia, demining, and energy cooperation were discussed.

"The visit of the foreign ministers of Austria and the Czech Republic to Kyiv is a confirmation of political support and continued cooperation between our countries. I discussed sanctions against Russia, demining, and energy cooperation with Alexander Schallenberg and Jan Lipavský," the Head of Government posted on Facebook.

He emphasized that the financial and military support of partners bolstered Ukraine's chances of success in the war with the Russian aggressor, thanked for the comprehensive assistance that Austria and the Czech Republic provided to Ukraine.

As the Government portal informs, Shmyhal emphasized that the supply of weapons was crucial for our country not only to survive but also to win the war. In this context, he expressed hope that the 4th Ramstein format meeting will contribute to a significant improvement of Ukraine's combat potential.

The parties, among other things, discussed prolonging and intensifying sanctions pressure on Russia.

The Prime Minister appealed to Austria and the Czech Republic with a request to support the expansion of electricity exports from Ukraine.

In addition, Shmyhal told the ministers of foreign affairs of Austria and the Czech Republic about the first stage of rehabilitation of Ukraine — fast recovery. According to him, demining is among its critical elements, so he called on countries to join the process.

Federal Minister for European and International Affairs of Austria Alexander Schallenberg noted that his country stood ready to cooperate in the issue of demining. He also added that Austria would continue to provide comprehensive assistance to Ukraine.

For his part, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Jan Lipavský noted that support for Ukraine was among the main priorities for the Czech Republic during its presidency of the Council of the European Union.

As reported, Federal Minister for European and International Affairs of Austria Alexander Schallenberg and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Jan Lipavský make a working visit to Ukraine.
