The strengthened cooperation between the Associated Trio and the European Union should be reflected in the declaration of the Eastern Partnership summit.

"As part of the preparations for the 6th Eastern Partnership summit, we have taken several other steps to fill this format with concrete content," Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal said at a joint briefing with Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili and Prime Minister of Moldova Natalia Gavrilița in Brussels on November 30, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

The Prime Minister noted that the Trio aims to strengthen cooperation with the European Union in the areas of green and digital transformation, connectivity, energy security, justice, home affairs, strategic communications and healthcare.

The Head of Government stressed that this should be reflected in the joint declaration following the Eastern Partnership summit.

Shmyhal also said that Ukraine, Moldova, and Georgia are interested in negotiations with the EU on the liberalization of transportation with EU Member States.

“The countries of the Associated Trio seek to implement the priorities of the EU’s Sustainable and Smart Mobility Strategy and cooperation with the EU to implement a new Global Gateway connectivity strategy. In cooperation with the EU, we plan to move closer to the green transformation of transport within the framework of the Green Deal,” the official stated.

In addition, customs cooperation with the EU was discussed. The three countries seek to cooperate on further implementation of the customs code and alternative rules, the Prime Minister of Ukraine said. Shmyhal also drew attention to the joint efforts of the Trio countries to address a number of issues related to strengthening energy security in Europe.
