Ukrainian, Polish officials discuss support for Ukraine's EU integration course
According to the report, Zhovkva congratulated Kumoch on his appointment to the post and expressed hope that the Ukrainian and Polish presidential offices would continue their traditionally dynamic and rich cooperation.
Kumoch reaffirmed Poland's unwavering support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and the readiness of the Polish side to continue to support the relevant initiatives of Ukraine, including within regional and international organizations.
Zhovkva also spoke about the tense security situation in eastern Ukraine and ceasefire violations recorded every day, as well as a Russian military build-up along the Ukrainian-Russian border and in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
Kumoch expressed support for Ukraine's initiatives aimed at ensuring the de-occupation of Crimea and confirmed that Poland would be represented at a high level at the inaugural summit of the Crimean Platform in Kyiv in August.
Both parties also exchanged views on the importance and symbolism of the declaration concluded between Ukraine and Poland on further support by Polish partners of Ukraine's movement towards EU membership.
Zhovkva and Kumoch also discussed the issue of Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic integration. They agreed on the importance of further bilateral cooperation to strengthen Ukraine's military interoperability with NATO, in particular using the format of the Lithuanian-Polish-Ukrainian Brigade (LitPolUkrBrig) as a clear example of successful cooperation between the Ukrainian Armed Forces and NATO member states.
