Parliament dismisses Petrashko as Ukraine's economy minister

The Verkhovna Rada has dismissed Ihor Petrashko as Ukraine's minister for economic development, trade and agriculture.

According to an Ukrinform correspondent, 280 MPs voted for a respective decision at an extraordinary parliament meeting on Tuesday, May 18.

On May 14, the Verkhovna Rada received a statement of resignation from Petrashko, who has headed the Ministry for Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture since March 17, 2020.

On May 17, MPs from the Servant of the People faction in parliament said they would support Oleksiy Liubchenko as a candidate for the post of minister for economic development, trade and agriculture.

Liubchenko has headed the State Tax Service since April 29, 2020.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Verkhovna Rada dismissed Vladyslav Kryklii as Ukraine's infrastructure minister. A total of 284 lawmakers voted for a respective decision.
