Portugal interested in exchanging experience in digitalization and IT with Ukraine

Ambassador of the Portuguese Republic to Ukraine António Machado said this during a meeting with Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vasyl Bodnar, Ukrinform reports with reference to the press service of the Foreign Ministry.

"The parties agreed to hold political consultations at the level of deputy foreign ministers this year ... A separate topic of the meeting was the preparation of a regular meeting of the Ukraine-Portugal Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation and the visit of Pedro Vieira, the Minister of Portugal for the Economy and the Digital Transition, to Ukraine. The Ambassador of Portugal praised Ukraine's achievements in the field of digitalization and IT and expressed his country's interest in sharing experiences," the statement reads.

Bodnar outlined the key priorities of Ukraine's European integration. António Machado confirmed his country's readiness to contribute to the implementation of the agenda of the EU-Ukraine relations during the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

The parties noted the need to increase the number of direct flights between the two countries to promote trade and contacts between citizens.

Portugal assumed the six-month presidency of the Council of the European Union on January 1.
